The World as a Consumable

There are two kinds of people. One sees the world as consumable. He wakes up feeling he’s owed. His family, friends, teachers, colleagues, the barista from the local coffee shop, they’re all there for him. The other sees the world as an empty cup, a blank canvas, a stage.

Life isn't just a buffet line of experiences. It can be, but I'd much rather be the chef, choosing the menu and cooking delicious food for myself and others. We aren't owed anything, and If you sit around waiting to be served, one day you'll wake up with regret, unable to make up for lost time. We all consume things, that's not the problem. Just remember to put more back than you take out.
