What It Says About You

Your clothes, hair, age, where you’re from, where you live, what you do for a living. What does it say about you? We communicate so much without opening our mouths, whether we mean to or not. And though we can try our best to manage all these perceptions, we’ll hardly come close.

So, what does it say about you, if anything? You could let a $2,000 handbag tell the world you’re wealthy, or carry a burlap sack to show what a humble person you are. Both would say something on your behalf, and neither would necessarily be true. There are two perspectives to every illusion.

You, and only you know the truth yourself. Sometimes we have to look deep within the twisting labyrinth of our own mind to find our voice, but we’re in there. And, when we do find this inner voice, check to see if it matches your external thoughts and actions. In other words, am I living and communicating my truth?

Friends, family, colleagues will all form their own opinions, and that’s alright, because truth originates from within. When you write your own life story, the pen is in your hand. You can choose to let the objects, people, and events do the talking, or the actions of the heroine can speak for herself.

Don’t assume you know the truth upon initial impressions. We all have our stories and some of us wear them more openly than others. What it says, doesn’t define you. That, my dear reader is your decision, and is your gift to share with the world.
