Digging Deep

The boy raised his hand as high as he possibly could, just as he was told. Then without hesitation the teacher said, now raise your hand even higher. The boy stretched his arm, sat up tall, and raised his hand just a little higher. It's not that the boy wasn't trying the first time, he was. Yet, all he needed was an extra challenge to exceed his performance expectation.

The boy needed to dig deep, to perform beyond what he thought he was capable of. Dig deep.
